Gaza Pilgrims.. A Third Year of Deprivation and Hope That Never Fades Despite the Siege

Hearts in Mecca.. Bodies Under Siege

For the third consecutive year, the pilgrims of the Gaza Strip stand at the threshold of a dream left unfulfilled. While pilgrims from around the world journey toward the Sacred House of Allah, thousands of Palestinians in Gaza remain deprived of performing Hajj due to border closures and ongoing restrictions.

This video is not merely a news report; it is a cry of pain from hearts attached to the curtains of the Kaaba while trapped behind barriers.

Gaza and Hajj: A Pain in Every Longing Heart

Dr. Alaa recounts the suffering of elderly people who spent years waiting for their turn in the Hajj lottery, only to find themselves deprived today—not because of age or financial hardship, but because of occupation and a bitter reality.

Being deprived for the third year in a row means many may lose the opportunity forever, as time may not grant them another year to wait.

Facts and Figures: Gaza Without Pilgrims

For three years, particularly since the intensification of the crises and the complete closure of crossings, not a single pilgrim has departed from Gaza. This reality has left severe consequences on Palestinian society, including:

  • Accumulating waiting lists: Thousands of registered names waiting for years for their turn.
  • Psychological suffering: Feelings of helplessness and oppression among the most vulnerable groups, especially the elderly and the sick.
  • Suspension of pilgrimage missions: A complete halt to Hajj and Umrah companies that once provided livelihoods for hundreds of families.

Nesam’s Message: Solidarity with Deprived Hearts

At Nesam Charity, and through our philosophy of “Decision and Impact,” we believe that standing beside these deprived people is a humanitarian duty.

If the “decision” has prevented them from traveling, then our “impact” must be in supporting their resilience and highlighting their cause before the world as a fundamental human right—especially the right to worship and freedom of movement.

Prayers Beyond Borders

Despite the restrictions, the voices of Gaza’s pilgrims will continue to echo with Talbiyah above the rubble of their homes and behind the fences of siege.

Depriving them of Hajj is a test for the world’s conscience and a call for every free person to stand for their right to practice their faith.
